Surfland is a mobile application born within the Goo Ventures innovation ecosystem that addresses a real need in the surfing world: centralizing all services around the surfer experience into a single digital platform. The app allows users to check wave and weather forecasts, locate the best surf spots according to their level, book lessons, rent equipment, find accommodations, and connect with an active community of surfers.
The project was driven by Eric García, CEO and founder of GooApps®, together with former professional surfer Borja Agote, who identified the lack of an all-in-one solution in the sector. Today, the product strategy and evolution are led by Albert Solé, Surfland’s co-founder, responsible for user vision and international expansion.
The first version of Surfland launched in 2022 with an initial focus on the Catalan coast. Today, the app exceeds 5,000 monthly downloads and is present in Spain, Portugal, France, and Morocco, with expansion plans for Latin America and the U.S. in 2025. The platform leverages proprietary surf spot recommendation technology and offers educational content, local events, and social interaction tools for surfers.
Surfland is a clear example of Goo Ventures’ approach: identifying real opportunities, validating the solution with users, and supporting growth from product definition to international scale-up.
